Introduction to Research

Wednesday 2-4pm
Instructor: Javane Strong
 

During this course, students will be guided through the process of building a strong and cohesive research proposal.  This framework and/or final proposal can then be used as part of the application process for scholarships such as the McNair Scholars and Haas Scholars programs, and fellowships such as the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowships Program. 

Students will also learn how to conduct a comprehensive search for scholarships.

Academic Tutor/Mentor Program (ATMP)

Times: Wednesday 10-12pm
Instructor:  Michelle V. Samuel
 
This course is open to participants in the SSS Academic Tutoring & Mentorship Program (ATMP) who want to support incoming SSS students in their college and academic experience. Students in this course will engage in self reflection, class activities, and discussions to build your academic, communication, and interpersonal skills in order to mentor incoming Pell scholars and support their success at UC Berkeley.  Open to all SSS Students.
